Gabriella Gray has worked at St Thomas’ Hospital since 2003 as a consultant in obstetrics (pregnancy and childbirth).
Gabriella qualified in internal medicine and haematology. She then trained in obstetrics and gynaecology, at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and University College Hospitals, receiving additional, highly specialised training in maternal medicine. This means she is able to support pregnancies of mothers affected by a variety of medical conditions such as asthma, hypertension, thyroid and blood disorders.
A mother herself, she understands both the excitement and the anxieties of pregnancy and childbirth. Her ethos is to support prospective mothers and fathers by both nurturing normality and expertly dealing with complexity. She has excellent working relationships and support from midwives, gynaecologists, anaesthetists, fetal medicine experts, physicians and surgeons.
Special interests
Gabriella is actively involved in teaching and has co-authored papers in highly respected journals. The most recent publications were an invited review in “Best Practice In Obstetrics and Gynaecology” and a book chapter in “Challenging concepts in obstetrics and gynaecology”.
